This is my first post on the new laptop. Its not the highest end of anything. In fact, out the door, I paid slightly more than I could have for a netbook… yeeeouch. Ordinarily that means you bought a craptacular low end unit. Really though… I don’t feel it. So far, mind you this is day 1, battery life is the only thing I really don’t care for. Its bad. Really bad. Something like 2 hours or a little less. However. Its also running a 16:9 screen, that is nearly 16 inches. That kind of crap is going to happen then. But video looks sharp on it. So what. I have a permanent cord popping out of my ass. Like thats going to be a first for a person on a portable device? Anyhow, this is all my first run in with Vista, officially, as well. And for all the garbage people give Microsoft about it; this is not a bad OS. Its smooth, and clean, a bit slow at points, and the hierarchy is cumbersome, when coming from a legacy edition of NT, but its entirely likeable. Especially for someone who has never dealt much with a computer, since the OS had a date in the title. Anyhow, check out Staples if you want to score a deal on a laptop. I did. 3 gigs of ram, 250gig hd, a dual core pentium @3.0ghz, and a dvd burner, with the big screen size. Rather large keyboard, WITH a number pad! After rebates…. [drum roll] about $400.00 397 something er other. I was shopping netbooks, woefully undersized, under screened, lacking an optical drive, with a third the ram, half the hd space, and Atom processors for about 2 dollars less. So I have a laptop now.
